week end a bordeaux!

I left on Friday night to visit my friends, Pascal and Thelma, in Bordeaux. Bordeaux is about 4 hours away from Nantes by car, but by plane it is a lot faster. Pascal is a pilot, so one of his friends picked me up in Nantes and flew me (in the cockpit!!!!) to meet Pascal. It was incredible. The pilot and copilot were soooo funny. They got us up in the air, put the plane on autopilot and then literally just laughed and talked to me the rest of the time. This orange button, with what I thought had a CAUT. written on it (could have been my eyes playing tricks on me...?), flashed at least four times, but on each occasion they just rolled their eyes, flipped it off in unison, and went back to goofing off. A little strange, but I am still alive, so all is good. The best part was on the landing, when the pilot joked with me, switching off autopilot saying, "Watch out...this is all me now!". He went on to shake the steering wheel back and forth a few times to freak me out. No big deal. I mean it was only a plane, its not like it's any more serious than riding a bike, right?

Seeing Pascal and Thelma again was amazing! They are such beautiful people. It had been 7 years since I had last seen them--wayyy too long! They picked me up from the airport and we had an amazing dinner. On Saturday, Thelma took me out with her friend Marine to see the city. Bordeaux is absolutely beautiful....see for yourself! ;)

On Sunday, we didn't have much time before I left. But Pascal took us out to the Bassin d'Arcachon for lunch near the beach. It was amazing! The weekend went by way too fast, and we had to rush back to get me on a plane home. It was great to see Pascal and Thelma and I can't wait to meet again soon! <3
