I can't believe a month has gone by already! The end of January feels like the close of the awkward period of just learning the basics of life and language here. Not that I am now an expert, by any means, but at the moment I feel confident enough to at least call what I am doing here "living", as opposed to merely surviving by watching, and imitating everyone around me. I am hopeful that my next month here will take me equally as far in my learning! :)
On another note, we went to see another movie today! "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" is the English title. I can't describe how wierd it is to watch French come out of Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant's mouths. It was a cute romantic comedy. Not earth shattering, but it was a lot of fun for me. It took me back to New York City and then good old Wyoming. I saw my love, Costco, for a fleeting moment on the big screen. (Costco, dear, I will see you very soon. Wait for me. Don't you ever change. I love you just the way you are. Let's do lunch *cough*freesamples*cough* as soon as I return)I also got to listen to some country music in a few of the scenes, just to remind me of all the redneck women ("all my sisters out there keeping it country") back home...and yes, don't worry, I did catch myself in time before I started singing along with Gretchen Wilson. Apparently they don't listen to that here? haha
