steak+frites=paradis

I am definitely going to miss being able to go home for lunch in the middle of the day. That is so nice. Today, Capucine and I had a really long break so we walked over to her grandparents' house for lunch. I ate way too much, as always, but it was beyond delicious, as always. Homemade french fries are the best! I would just like to express my love for Capucine's grandparents. They instruct me frequently to tell everyone back home about them. Not only do I think they are the greatest, but they do too. :)

After school, Capucine and I went to the movies. We saw Avatar. It was really my first French movie experience without subtitles and I could understand! (Break out the party poppers!) Normally I watch movies in French, with the subtitles in French as well. If you are learning, that is definitely the way to go. I have noticed that if I put the subtitles in English then I don't really listen at all to the words. If you have French sound and French words written, you are forced to both listen and read. And I promise, the two combined teach you a lot. By the end of the movie, you start noticing that sometimes the subtitles aren't the same as the spoken words. Its kind of neat to be able to understand both! :)
