rallye

Tonight Capucine and I went to a party! :) To be more specific, a rallye. From what I gathered "rallye" is an old tradition that started way-back-when with "good families". In other words, rich people organized parties for their children to encourage them to meet and marry the "right" type of people. Although I think the tradition has evolved a little bit since then, the party was still a little old-fashioned.

Tonight's rallye took place in an old, beautiful chateau! It was amazing. Everyone was dressed up and actually danced, a concept not widely understood among America's youth. (They tried to teach me, but apparently the phrase "two left feet" does not translate directly...however, they got the gist)

As soon as they found out I was American, it got a little crazy. You get major popularity points here if you are from the United States. The boys got really excited and their favorite game became "mob the American" while she is trying to learn all of the old dances. It was a lot of fun though! Definitely a memorable night! :)
